About Joshua

My passion is leading people to Jesus Christ through the pages of Scripture. To that end, I have served as a missionary in Mexico, Hong Kong, Thailand, the U.S., and currently Ukraine where I have lived since 2001. In 2004, I married Kelsie, the girl of my dreams, and God has blessed us beyond measure with a precious family. Our three children Abigail (6), Rebekah (4), and Hosanna (1) are the joy of our lives! Together, we live to glorify our Savior and proclaim His Word to those around us.

Going to Krakow!

As the immigration saga continues to unfold, we have become accustomed to experiencing rather dramatic swings in our fortunes. One moment it seems that Ukraine will close its doors forever, and the next we are assured that the acquiring of such-and-such document will be a mere formality.

The Wawel Castle in Krakow, Poland

Happily, it appears that this journey of peaks and valleys is nevertheless leading us in a generally upward direction. Yesterday, our attorney finally received the documents needed in order for us to apply for our new visas at the Ukrainian consulate in Poland. While the battle is far from over, this latest development is certainly encouraging.

On March 13, our entire team minus the Day family (who are in America) will appear at the Ukrainian consulate in Krakow where we will present our documents. All indicators point to a positive outcome and we are optimistic that we will receive our visas that same day.

Then the real battle begins. From that point, we will have 45 days to complete the registration process with our local OVIR in L’viv. While that may sound straightforward, experience has shown it to be anything but. We are grateful to have a good attorney as well as the experience of a few missionaries who have gone before us.

As always, we appreciate your continued intercession for our family and our ministry as we strive to make Christ known in Ukraine.

Abby & Beka – Hebrews 11

Check out our latest video of Abigail and Rebekah quoting Scripture! Due to our bout with Whooping Cough a couple of months back, our normal Scripture memory program was delayed. But now we’ve finally finished our latest passage: Hebrews 11:1-6. Abby and Beka are making great progress with their verses, and Mom and Dad are very proud.

New Faces

Our English Club seems to be growing of late. For the past several weeks, we’ve seen a marked increase in attendance, and at times have even had to worry a bit about seating!

Our English Club has been meeting for over three years now, and in that time we’ve built some key relationships with Ukrainians who come regularly. Below are some photos from yesterday’s meeting. Thanks for praying for this ministry!

Lately we've had several new faces at English Club.

Jessie explains some English words at the white board.

Ivan (left) is one of our most faithful attendees and also a believer.

Ivan has lately been bringing his two nieces, Nastia (far left) and Olenka (second from left).

We've also begun bringing Abby and Beka. They love coming to English Club with Dad, coloring on the white board, playing with the other kids (after the meeting) and of course eating cookies during the fellowship time.

Vasyl started attending our group a few months ago and has been very faithful as well. He brings his niece and nephew with him.

Octap (right) and Sophia (second from right) are Vasyl's nephew and niece. They're very sharp kids and they know English well.

Please keep praying for our English Club. Of course, our primary goal is not English, but to communicate Christ to these precious souls. We do this often by reading together from Good and Evil (by No Greater Joy), but also in conversation and through Bible teaching. While some members of our group are saved, many others are not. Regardless, we have good rapport with the whole group and it is our desire to see each of them turn to Jesus for salvation.
